# How to export Contact profiles

*Learn how to export contact data from Crisp and what to use when you need conversation exports.*

Crisp can export your contact profiles as a CSV from the **Contacts** section. Conversation exports are handled differently: they are not available as a native CSV export from the Crisp app and must be done through the **API** or a third-party migration tool.

Contact exports are available from **Crisp CRM**, starting from the **Essentials** plan.

#### ${color}[#445055](Run the contact export)

Go to [**Crisp**](https://app.crisp.chat), then open **Contacts → Actions → Export Contact Profiles**.

__Once you launch the export:__
* Crisp prepares the CSV file for your workspace
* The export can take a few minutes, depending on your number of contacts
* You receive an email notification when the export is ready

Conversation data cannot be exported as a native CSV from the Crisp dashboard at the moment.

__To export conversations for another platform, use one of these options:__
* **Crisp API** → best when your team can build or run a custom export
* **Third-party migration tool** → useful when you want an external tool, such as Briskport, to handle the export flow

If you are exporting a large conversation volume through the API and reach daily rate limits, your team can request a higher limit. The request will be reviewed by Crisp.

__Before planning an export, keep these limits in mind:__
* **Contact exports** → limited to 500,000 contacts; contact Crisp if you need to export more
* **Conversation exports** → not available as a native CSV export from the Crisp app
