# How to import & export Analytics dashboards

*Import and export Analytics Dashboards to reuse reporting setups across workspaces, create reusable templates, or keep a copy of a Dashboard configuration.*

Dashboard import and export uses **.json** files. This is useful when you want to recreate the same reporting setup in another workspace, install a template, or keep a reusable copy of a Dashboard.

Importing a Dashboard lets you load a ready-made Analytics Dashboard from a **.json** file.

1. Open [**Crisp**](https://app.crisp.chat), then go to **Analytics → Dashboards**.
2. Click **Create a new dashboard** at the bottom of the Dashboard list.
3. Select **Import Dashboard**.
4. Upload your **.json** file.
5. Rename or edit the Dashboard once it appears in your list.

All chart configurations, metrics, filters, and layout settings included in the file are recreated automatically. Once imported, the Dashboard works like any Dashboard you build manually.

Exporting saves your Dashboard as a **.json** file that you can import again later or reuse in another workspace.

1. Open [**Crisp**](https://app.crisp.chat), then go to **Analytics → Dashboards**.
2. Hover the Dashboard you want to export.
3. Click **⋯ (More)**.
4. Select **Export**.
5. Download the generated **.json** file.

__A Dashboard export includes:__
* **Chart configurations** → the reports and visual settings used in the Dashboard
* **Queries and metrics** → the data each chart is built from
* **Filters and date ranges** → the configured report scope
* **Dashboard layout** → how the charts are arranged

You do not need to export a Dashboard just to make it available to teammates in the same workspace. You can [share an Analytics Dashboard directly with your team](https://help.crisp.chat/en/article/how-to-share-analytics-dashboards-with-your-team-1aocit8/) so operators with Analytics access can view and edit the same Dashboard.

Use import and export when you need to reuse a Dashboard outside its current workspace or keep a reusable configuration.

__Dashboard exports are especially useful when you want to:__
* **Reuse setups across workspaces** → replicate Analytics layouts for multiple brands or teams
* **Create reusable templates** → distribute a Dashboard structure without rebuilding it manually
* **Keep a copy of a setup** → save a Dashboard configuration that you may want to import again later
* **Share a setup outside your workspace** → send the **.json** file to someone who cannot access the original workspace
