# How to include Crisp as part of a website contract

*Learn how agencies and developers can include Crisp in a client website contract.*

When you build or maintain a website for a client, Crisp can be included as the customer support layer: live chat, shared inbox, email, knowledge base, automation, and AI depending on the selected plan. The key is to clarify who owns the workspace, who pays for the subscription, and which features are included in the contract.

Crisp can be installed once and then managed either by your team or by the client, depending on the relationship you want to offer.

__When including Crisp in a website contract, decide who will:__
* Own the Crisp workspace
* Manage billing and invoices
* Configure the chatbox and channels
* Invite the client's support agents
* Maintain integrations, automations, and knowledge base content

If you want to include the cost in your own contract, you can pay Crisp in advance, for example with a yearly subscription, and account for that cost in your client invoice.

| If the client should manage billing directly, let them add their own payment method from **Settings → Billing → Cards** so invoices and card details remain under their account.

Crisp gives your team one place to manage customer conversations across chat, email, and other connected channels. Your agents can reply from the web app, desktop apps, or mobile apps.

__Useful benefits to mention in a contract:__
* **One shared inbox** → centralize customer conversations
* **Web, desktop, and mobile apps** → reply from the tools your team prefers
* **Knowledge base** → publish self-serve help content
* **Automations and workflows** → guide visitors and reduce repetitive work
* **AI Agent** → use Hugo for AI-powered support when configured
* **Integrations** → connect Crisp with ecommerce, CRM, and productivity tools

Some Crisp features are especially useful when the live chat is part of a larger website or agency contract.

If the client wants to remove **We run on Crisp** branding from the chatbox and email conversations, confirm that the selected plan supports de-branding before promising it.

A yearly subscription can make the cost easier to include in a website maintenance contract or annual service package.

If the client eventually needs full ownership, make sure they own the Crisp workspace, or transfer billing by linking the workspace to a payment method added from the client's Crisp account.
