# How to temporary hide the chatbox with the vacation mode

*This article explains how to temporarily hide the Crisp chatbox from your website.*

Vacation mode is useful when your team needs to pause live chat for a short period, such as holidays, maintenance, or temporary staffing changes. Once enabled, the chatbox is hidden everywhere it is installed until you turn the option off again.

Vacation mode hides the chatbox everywhere. If you only need to hide it on a few URLs, use [blocked pages](/en/article/how-to-hide-the-chatbox-on-some-pages-yzs8rk/) instead.

For frontend-specific rules, you can also use the [Crisp Web Chat SDK guide for hiding and showing the chatbox](/en/article/how-can-i-hide-and-show-the-chatbox-13l0f8e/).
