# What are Email Campaigns recipient limits

*Learn which recipient limits apply to one-shot email Campaigns in Crisp and how to increase them.*

Crisp limits how many recipients a one-shot email Campaign can be sent to at once. These limits protect deliverability, reduce abuse, and help keep email sending healthy for all Crisp users.

|| Recipient limits apply to **one-shot Campaigns**. Automated Campaigns are not impacted by the limits described below.

Campaign recipient limits depend on your Crisp plan, whether your workspace is still in trial or sandbox mode, and whether you send through a pooled IP, a Dedicated IP, or a custom SMTP.

| Plan or status | Pooled email IP | Dedicated IP or custom SMTP |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Trial | `50` recipients per Campaign | `100` recipients per Campaign |
| Crisp Mini | `1,000` recipients per Campaign | `10,000` recipients per Campaign |
| Crisp Essentials | `10,000` recipients per Campaign | `100,000` recipients per Campaign |
| Crisp Plus | `20,000` recipients per Campaign | `100,000` recipients per Campaign |

||| Workspaces trialing Crisp Mini, Essentials, or Plus temporarily keep the same limits as Crisp Free. This prevents abuse of the free trial system. If you need higher limits before the trial ends, [contact Crisp support](https://crisp.chat/en/contact/).

There are several ways to increase the number of recipients you can target in a one-shot Campaign.

__To increase your recipient limits, you can:__
* **Upgrade your Crisp plan** → higher plans include higher default recipient limits
* **Leave trial mode** → paid workspaces unlock their plan's normal limits
* **Use a Dedicated IP or custom SMTP** → assigned sending infrastructure gives access to higher Campaign limits
* **Increase eligible limits from Crisp settings** → available from **Settings → Workspace Settings → Data, Limits & Legal → Campaign recipients limit**

You can also read the dedicated guide: [How can I increase my limits & quotas?](https://help.crisp.chat/en/article/how-can-i-increase-my-limits-quotas-1tuarq7/)

||| Increased Campaign recipient limits only apply if you are sending through an assigned Dedicated IP or a custom SMTP. If you increased the limit but still use a pooled IP, configure a Dedicated IP or custom SMTP first.

# ${color}[#0080dd](Get the maximum limit with a Dedicated IP)

The highest standard one-shot Campaign recipient limit is available when you combine **Crisp Essentials** or **Crisp Plus** with a **Dedicated IP** or **custom SMTP**.

To learn how Dedicated IPs work, read [How do I use the Dedicated IP?](https://help.crisp.chat/en/article/how-do-i-use-the-dedicated-ip-jkok0d/)

# ${color}[#0080dd](What happens when you reach the limit)

When you send a Campaign within your limit, Crisp shows a green success notification. If the selected audience exceeds your recipient limit, Crisp shows an error before the Campaign can be sent.

When this happens, reduce the recipient list, upgrade the relevant limit, or configure eligible sending infrastructure before trying again.

---

# ${color}[#0080dd](Custom SMTP and sandbox mode)

A custom SMTP gives you the same Campaign recipient limits as a Dedicated IP. In other words, Crisp treats external SMTP sending infrastructure like assigned sending infrastructure for limit purposes.

If your workspace is in **sandbox mode**, its Campaign recipient limits are the same as a trial workspace, even if the workspace uses a Mini, Essentials, or Plus plan for development or staging.
