How to display the homepage in the Crisp chatbox

This article explains how to enable the Home section in the Crisp chatbox widget.

The Home section gives visitors a clearer starting point when they open the widget. It can group key actions such as starting a conversation, searching your knowledge base, checking updates, or viewing your status information.

What the Home section is

The Home section is a dedicated entry screen inside the chatbox. Instead of sending visitors directly into a conversation, you can give them a small hub where they can choose what they need first.

Example of the chatbox Home section

The Home section can help visitors:

  • Search for answers → find knowledge base content before contacting your team
  • Start a conversation → reach your support team from the same widget
  • Check updates → access important announcements or status information when configured

Enable the Home section

The Home section is optional. You can enable it from the chatbox behavior settings and choose which section visitors see first.

To enable the Home section:

  1. Go to Crisp
  2. Open Settings → Chatbox Settings → Chatbox Behavior
  3. Enable Show a home section in the chatbox
  4. Choose the default entrypoint for the widget, such as Home, Chat, or your knowledge base section
  5. Let Crisp auto-save your changes

When to use it

The Home section is useful when you want the chatbox to do more than open a new conversation. It gives visitors a self-service starting point while keeping support one click away.

If your main goal is to collect messages as quickly as possible, you can keep the chat entrypoint as Chat instead.
