How to change the chatbox welcome message
This article explains how to change the welcome message shown in your Crisp chatbox.
The welcome message is the first greeting visitors see when they open the chatbox. A clear and friendly message can encourage visitors to ask their question and understand what kind of help they can expect.
Change the default welcome message
You can edit the default greeting from your chatbox appearance settings.
To change the welcome message:
- Open Crisp.
- Go to Settings → Chatbox Settings → Chatbox Appearance.
- Open Welcome Message.
- Select or edit the message you want to display.
- Let Crisp auto-save your change.

Customize more chatbox texts
For deeper text customization, click on Advanced Chatbox Customization under Settings → Chatbox Settings → Chatbox Appearance → Chatbox Theme.
This lets you adapt the widget copy more closely to your brand voice and customer journey.

Send proactive welcome messages
A default welcome message appears when the visitor opens the chatbox. If you want Crisp to proactively send a message based on visitor behavior, use Triggers instead.
Triggers can help you start conversations based on rules such as page visited, time spent on the website, or other visitor behavior.
