How can I import my Helpdesk from a previous provider?

Here is how to import all your Knowledge articles from other providers.

Importing your current previous knowledge content is really easy as Crisp automatically imports all your knowledge base content from those providers:

Betterdocs
Freshdesk
Front
Gitbook
GrooveHQ
Helpcrunch
Helpdocs
Helpjuice
Helpscout
Hubspot
Intercom
Liveagent
Wordpress Knowledge
Zendesk

Note: Gitbook and Liveagent currently do not permit importing images. Once the import is completed, customers coming from these providers will need to manually import the images in their article 🏞️

Import articles

Go to app.crisp.chat
Go to helpdesk
Click on import articles on the upper right corner.

Click "Import articles"

Then paste the help center URL you have from your previous provider.

Please note that your Helpdesk URL must be public so our servers can fetch the content.

If your Helpdesk is multi-langage, the URL must contain a language extension per each created language: for English, it should be exampleURL.com/en, for French exampleURL.com/fr and so on.

Crisp will automatically adapt your helpdesk's content. This operation may take 10 minutes.

The migration process duration may vary depending on how many articles you had on your previous knowledge base. We will notify by email when this operation is done.

Notes about imported articles

Crisp is not importing videos. You will have to import again your videos.
In rare case, you will have to manually assign your articles to categories.
Crisp is not supporting tables.

My Helpdesk provider is not supported, what do I do?

Some providers may not currently be supported, due to limitations regarding the way their content is generated. However, that doesn't mean you cannot import your articles!

You can manually create your articles in Crisp and import their markdown there. If your articles are written in HTML, you can even find online tools to help you convert HTML to markdown to speed things up!
You can also use our REST API to programmatically import into your newly created Crisp helpdesk. The API can be helpful to deal with several hundreds of articles without manually recreating them.
Contact us! If you do not find your provider in this list, don't hesitate shooting us a message for extra information, or to let us know if you'd like us to consider adding support for the provider you are migrating from.

My articles were imported, but there are issues with the content

In some rare cases, this can happen. The first thing to check is to make sure there are not issues in the markdown of your articles (styling partially applied, line-breaks/characters typo within markdown...).
If you are using custom code or if you have modified the HTML of your Helpdesk, make sure to disable these customizations before proceeding with the import.

Should the issue persists, don't hesitate contacting us, we can help!
