How to install the crisp live-chat chatbox on WooCommerce

Learn how to install Crisp on WooCommerce so your store can display the chatbox and sync customer and order context into Crisp.


The WooCommerce integration helps online merchants support customers from Crisp while keeping useful store data close to each conversation. When connected, Crisp can access customer data, past orders, cart context, and order events depending on the customer session.

Install the Crisp for WooCommerce plugin


  1. Go to Crisp and open Plugins → WooCommerce.

  1. Download the Crisp for WooCommerce plugin file.
  2. In your WordPress admin area, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  3. Upload the crisp-woocommerce.zip file and activate the plugin.
  4. In WordPress, open Crisp Settings from the left sidebar and click Install Crisp on my WordPress & WooCommerce.

  1. Follow the instructions on screen to connect the plugin to your Crisp workspace.
  2. Approve the permissions required for Crisp to connect to your WooCommerce store.

The Crisp chatbox is now added to your store, and WooCommerce data can start syncing to Crisp.



How the WooCommerce integration works


The WooCommerce plugin lets your team view store context directly in Crisp. If a customer is logged in to your online store, operators can access relevant profile and order information without switching tools.


The integration can provide:

  • Customer data → synced from WooCommerce into Crisp contacts
  • Cart context → visible when the visitor has an active session
  • Past orders → available for logged-in customers
  • Order events → pushed to the Crisp user profile when orders are updated

Troubleshooting


Can I use the WooCommerce plugin without syncing WooCommerce contacts to Crisp?


Yes. You can stop contact synchronization by deleting the WooCommerce webhooks that push customer updates to Crisp.


  1. Log in to your WordPress admin area.
  2. Go to WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Webhooks.
  3. Delete the Customer Created and Customer Updated webhooks.
  4. If you also want to stop order events from being pushed to existing Crisp contacts, delete the order webhooks as well.
