How to install the Crisp live-chat chatbox on Wordpress

This article explains how to install Crisp Live Chat on a WordPress website.

The Crisp WordPress plugin lets you add the chatbox without editing your theme manually. Install the plugin from WordPress, link it to your Crisp workspace, and the chatbox can start loading on your public pages.

Install the Crisp WordPress plugin

You can install Crisp directly from the WordPress plugin directory.

To install Crisp on WordPress:

Log in to your WordPress admin dashboard.
Go to Plugins → Add New.
Search for Crisp.
Install and activate the Crisp WordPress plugin.
Open Crisp Settings from the WordPress sidebar.
Click Link with Crisp.
Follow the instructions to connect your Crisp workspace.
Open your public website and check that the chatbox appears.

Troubleshooting

If the chatbox does not appear after installation, start with cache and theme checks.

Useful checks:

Cache plugin → purge your WordPress cache, especially if you use WP Super Cache or a similar plugin
Theme hooks → confirm your theme supports the standard WordPress hooks used by plugins
Plugin connection → reopen Crisp Settings and confirm the workspace is linked
Manual installation → if the plugin cannot inject the script, add Crisp manually with the HTML installation guide
