How to use Hugo Copilot in Analytics

Learn how to use Hugo Copilot in Analytics to explore your support data, create charts, and build dashboards with AI.

Hugo Copilot is available directly from Crisp Analytics. It can read the data shown in your reports, answer questions with real figures, create reporting views, and adjust the period you are analyzing without requiring you to configure every report manually.

If you're new to Analytics, start with Getting started with the Crisp Analytics. For a broader introduction to Copilot, see How to use Hugo Copilot as an AI assistant for customer support teams.

In this guide, you will learn how to:

Understand Hugo Copilot in Analytics

Open Crisp, go to Analytics, then open Copilot from the Analytics page.

Copilot works with the Analytics context you are currently viewing, so you can ask questions or request changes without leaving your reports.

It includes three built-in Analytics Skills:

  • /insights → read key figures and identify what stands out
  • /chart → build a chart on the dashboard you are viewing
  • /dashboard → build a new Analytics dashboard

You can run these Skills directly with their commands or describe what you need in natural language when automatic Skill selection is enabled.

Copilot can also change the date range and timezone used for the current Analytics view.

Analyze support data with /insights

Use /insights when you want Copilot to explain what is happening in your support data.

Type /insights and add a specific question when needed.

For example:

/insights What changed in our support performance this month?

/insights What stands out in our first response time?

/insights Compare our conversation volume with the previous period.

Copilot reads the relevant Analytics figures for the period currently displayed and returns the key metrics and findings directly in the conversation.

When enough data is available, it can highlight changes, compare periods, and point to areas worth investigating further.

Keep your question focused when investigating a specific metric. For a broader review, run /insights without adding a detailed request.

Create charts with /chart

Use /chart to turn a reporting question into a chart on the dashboard you currently have open.

Describe what you want the chart to measure after the command.

For example:

/chart Conversations by channel

/chart First response time by operator

/chart Conversation volume by day

Copilot uses the available Analytics metrics and filters to build a chart that matches your request.

The proposed chart appears directly on the dashboard as a preview.

You can review the chart before adding it permanently. If needed, drag the proposed chart to another position on the dashboard before accepting it.

If you prefer to configure reports manually, see How to build custom dashboards in Crisp Analytics.

Build dashboards with /dashboard

Use /dashboard when you want Copilot to create a complete reporting view around a specific objective.

Describe what the dashboard should help you monitor.

For example:

/dashboard Build a dashboard for monitoring customer support performance

/dashboard Create a dashboard for our support team lead

/dashboard Build a dashboard focused on conversation volume and responsiveness

Copilot selects relevant Analytics widgets and proposes a new dashboard based on your goal.

Preview a dashboard created by Hugo Copilot in Crisp Analytics

The dashboard remains a preview until you accept it, giving you the opportunity to review the proposed reports before saving it.

Once created, the dashboard works like any other custom Analytics dashboard. You can edit its reports, reorganize the layout, or share the Analytics dashboard with your team.

Review changes and adjust the Analytics period

Copilot does not automatically save the charts or dashboards it proposes.

When Copilot creates a reporting element, review the preview and choose whether to accept or discard it. Proposed charts can also be repositioned before they are added to the dashboard.

Change the date range or timezone

You can ask Copilot to update the period used for the current Analytics view.

For example:

Show me the last 30 days.

Switch the timezone to Europe/Paris.

Show this dashboard for last week in America/New_York.

Copilot updates the Analytics context so you can continue asking questions or creating reports for the selected period.

Use Copilot Skills and previous threads

The built-in /insights, /chart, and /dashboard Skills are designed specifically for Analytics, but custom Copilot Skills can also be made available there.

Go to AI Agent → Guidance → Copilot skills to create or manage your Skills.

When configuring a Skill, enable Analytics under Available in if you want operators to use it from Analytics.

Custom Skills are useful when your team regularly follows the same analysis procedure or needs reporting tailored to an internal process.

For a complete guide to creating and configuring Skills, see How to create and manage Copilot Skills in Crisp.

Return to previous Copilot threads

Copilot keeps Analytics threads for 30 days.

Previous threads are available from the thread selector, with the most recent conversations shown first. This lets you return to an earlier analysis without starting again from scratch.

After 30 days, older Copilot threads are no longer available.
