How to Install the Crisp Live Chat to a Notion Page

This article explains how to embed the Crisp Live Chat chatbox inside a Notion page without using code or installing a plugin.

Notion can display external URLs directly inside a page. To add Crisp, find your Website ID, generate the direct link to your chatbox, then paste it into a Notion Embed block.

If Hugo AI Agent is activated on your workspace, visitors can also interact with your AI Agent directly from the embedded chatbox.

In this guide, you will learn how to:

Watch the installation walkthrough

This video shows how to find your Website ID, generate your Crisp chatbox URL, embed it inside Notion, and test the installation from your Crisp Inbox.

Find your Website ID

Every Crisp workspace has its own unique Website ID.

To find it:

  1. Open Settings in Crisp.
  2. Go to Workspace Settings → Setup & Integrations.
  3. Find the Website ID field.
  4. Click Copy.

For more information, see Where to find my Website ID.

Generate your Crisp chatbox link

Once you have copied your Website ID, use the following URL format:

https://go.crisp.chat/chat/embed/?website_id=MY_WEBSITE_ID

Replace MY_WEBSITE_ID with the Website ID from your Crisp workspace.

For example:

https://go.crisp.chat/chat/embed/?website_id=YOUR_ACTUAL_WEBSITE_ID

You can open the completed URL in your browser to confirm that it displays the correct Crisp chatbox before adding it to Notion.

See How can I generate the direct external link of my Chatbox? for more information about direct chatbox links.

Embed the Crisp chatbox in Notion

Once your chatbox URL is ready, add it to your Notion page using an Embed block.

To embed Crisp in Notion:

  1. Open the Notion page where you want the chatbox to appear.
  2. Click where you want to add the chatbox.

Adding a block in Notion

  1. Type /embed.
  2. Select Embed from the block menu.
  3. Paste your Crisp chatbox URL.
  4. Confirm the embed.

Pasting the Crisp chatbox URL in Notion

  1. Drag the edges of the block to resize the chatbox.

Resizing the Crisp chatbox embed in Notion

Make the embed large enough for visitors to read messages and use the chatbox comfortably.

Test the installation

Once the chatbox appears inside Notion:

  1. Open the Notion page as a visitor.
  2. Send a test message from the embedded chatbox.
  3. Open your Crisp Inbox.
  4. Confirm that the new conversation appears correctly.

If the message reaches your Inbox, the installation is working.

You can then customize your Crisp chatbox to adapt its appearance and behavior to your support experience.

Troubleshoot the Notion embed

If the chatbox does not appear correctly, check the following:

  • Website ID → confirm that the ID inside the URL matches your Crisp workspace
  • URL format → make sure the complete URL starts with https://go.crisp.chat/chat/embed/
  • Block type → select the Notion Embed block, not Bookmark
  • Embed size → resize the block if the chatbox appears too small
  • Workspace connection → send a test message and verify which Crisp Inbox receives it

The Website ID determines which Crisp workspace receives the conversations. Using an incorrect Website ID will connect the embedded chatbox to another workspace or prevent it from loading correctly.
