Where do I find my GDPR Data Processing Agreement (DPA)?

Companies using Crisp and handling European user data (ie. people living in the European Union) may need to sign a Data Processing Agreement (also called DPA), as part of GDPR requirements. Under the European GDPR regulation, Crisp is the Customer’s data processor. From the moment your account is created, Crisp processes the personal data from your end-users as described and agreed in our data processing agreement. This article explains where to find your DPA and how you can obtain a signed copy.

Before signing the DPA

Make sure the person handling the DPA has the right permissions and understands which workspace the contract applies to.

Before you start:

  • Use the right workspace → DPA contracts are attached to a specific Crisp workspace
  • Use an owner account → only workspace owners can upload the signed DPA
  • Prepare a clean signature → sign the PDF electronically or print, sign, and scan it properly
  • Check the file size → the uploaded file must stay within the upload limit shown in Crisp

Download and upload the DPA

To sign your DPA with Crisp:

  • Go to Crisp
  • Open Settings → Workspace Settings → Data, Limits & Legal
  • In Contract Agreements, click See Agreement
  • Download the GDPR contract shown in the list
  • Fill and sign the PDF you downloaded, either electronically or on printed paper
  • Upload back the signed PDF in the same section in your Crisp app (if signed on paper, please scan the contract properly; note that there's a file size limit of approximately 4MB)
  • Wait for the upload confirmation

After the upload confirmation appears, the DPA has been submitted successfully.

Update or cancel the DPA

You can cancel the DPA contract from the same Contract Agreements section, then sign it again later if needed.

Use this only when you know the existing agreement should be replaced or removed. If you are unsure, ask your legal team or contact Crisp support before changing the contract status.
