How to connect Facebook pages (Messenger) with Crisp
Learn how to connect Facebook Messenger pages to Crisp so your team can receive and reply to Messenger conversations from the Inbox.
The Messenger plugin lets you connect one or more Facebook Business pages to Crisp. Once connected, messages from those pages arrive in your Crisp Inbox and can be handled with your usual collaboration, routing, and automation tools.
Install the Facebook Messenger plugin
- Go to Crisp.
- Open Plugins → Messenger and click Install.

- Click Connect to Messenger and log in to Facebook in the external window.
- Select the pages you want to connect to Crisp and grant the requested permissions.

- When the success page appears, click Return to Settings.
- Click Connect Page for each Facebook Page you want to activate in Crisp.

Your Facebook Page is now connected, and Messenger conversations can be received and answered from Crisp.
Identify which Facebook Page a user messaged
When a user sends a Messenger message, Crisp adds the Facebook Page name to Visitor Data in the right sidebar. This helps your team understand which brand, page, or business the user contacted.

Use workflows with Messenger
After Messenger is connected, you can use Crisp workflows to qualify requests, collect information, route conversations, and answer common questions automatically.
Troubleshooting Messenger
I cannot see my Facebook Page listed in the plugin settings
Crisp may not have been granted access to the page. In Plugins → Messenger, click Reconnect to Messenger. In the Facebook window, click Edit Settings and select the pages Crisp should access.
My Facebook Page is connected, but I do not receive messages
Check the Meta advanced messaging configuration and make sure Crisp is the primary receiver.
- Log in as the Facebook Page.
- Open the page and click Manage.
- Open the page settings from the left menu.

- Go to Page Setup → Advanced Messaging.

- Confirm that Crisp appears under Connected Apps.
- Under Handover Protocol, click Configure for Messenger receiver and set Crisp as the Primary Receiver.

You can also open Facebook Advanced Messaging settings directly.

I changed my Facebook password
If the password changed, reconnect Crisp with Messenger from Plugins → Messenger so Crisp receives a fresh authorization token.
The user who connected Messenger left the company
If the Facebook user who authorized the connection loses admin access or leaves the company, the connection can break because Crisp was using that person's token. Reconnect Messenger from Plugins → Messenger using an active admin account.
The user contacted us more than 24 hours ago
Messenger limits replies after the 24-hour messaging window. If a user contacts you, your team can reply during the next 24 hours. After that window closes, Facebook may refuse the message until the user sends a new message.
