How to link a new payment method?

If you have a payment method expired or about to expire, you need to change this payment method and verify its link to the right workspace. Note that you must be owner of the workspace to add a payment method, and only the billing owner will have access to the invoices and card details.

Settings → Billing → Card

To check which payment method we accept, please refer to this article .

Clicking on this "Add new payment method" button will pop a window prompting you to select your desired payment method

Then, simply fill the required information for your payment method and continue.

Note: if your payment method relies on a 3DS validation, make sure to complete that step depending on the way your bank intends it to be (mobile app, email, SMS...). If you do not see a 3DS verification pop which you normally expects: don't hesitate adding this new card from an Incognito window in case it was blocked by a browser extension.

All the details you’ll add here will be used for the invoice’s details. Additionally, you can add an email address where to send the invoices (for example an accountant email). In this case, the billing owner and the accountant will receive the receipt.

As you can manage several workspace with several payment method from the same account, you need to link the right payment method to the right workspace. You may have to unlink the previous payment method, then select the new one. This also applies if you added PayPal or any other supported payment method.

Settings > Workspace Settings > Billing Settings

Once it’s done, Crisp will attempt to charge that workspace automatically within the next two hours. You will receive an email once the charge has been processed.

Troubleshooting

My card is marked as Invalid, why?

There could be several reasons:

3DS Validation may have failed, make sure it was setup correctly on your end. If you are not sure whether it was request, try to:

  1. Open app.crisp.chat in a new incognito window and login

  3. Remove the card and re-add it.

In some cases, browser preferences/extensions can block the verification modal. Using an Incognito window will help.

Expired or incorrectly detected as expired: if a card is shown as expired or invalid even though the expiration date is correct, remove it and add it again. This can refresh the card validation and resolve the issue.

Insufficient funds: Make sure the card is properly loaded and activated (if this is a new card, some banks require you to activate it online or at an agency's ATM)

Blocked by your bank: Your bank might erroneously block the authorisation on their end. This can happen due to tighten security. In that case, don't hesitate getting in touch with them to manually request the authorisation

All linked cards are invalid: remove all invalid cards from Settings → Billing → Cards, then re-add the correct one before linking it to the workspace.

Once your card is added to your account, make sure to follow Step 2 to link it to your workspace (otherwise Crisp will not be able to charge your subscription)

Wrong card linked to the workspace: if several users manage billing, make sure the valid payment method is linked to the correct workspace, and note that only the billing owner can manage invoices and card details.
