How to connect a Smiirl Counter with Crisp

Learn how to connect a Smiirl counter to Crisp so it can display live Crisp metrics on a physical counter.


The Smiirl plugin provides a JSON URL that your Smiirl counter can read. You can choose which Crisp metric to display, then adjust the refresh frequency from Smiirl.



Set up your Smiirl counter


  1. Plug in your Smiirl counter.
  2. Go to Smiirl Start.
  3. Follow the instructions on screen.
  4. Confirm the counter is ready to be linked to Crisp.



Link your Smiirl counter to Crisp


  1. Go to Crisp.
  2. Open Plugins → Smiirl and install the plugin.


Install the Smiirl plugin in Crisp


  1. Click the URL shown in Crisp to copy it to your clipboard.


Copy the Smiirl JSON URL from Crisp


  1. Go to Smiirl and open your counter settings.
  2. Select the JSON URL option.
  3. Paste the URL copied from Crisp.
  4. Select the count attribute.


Configure the Smiirl JSON URL


Your Smiirl counter is now connected to Crisp.



Choose the metric shown on the counter


The Smiirl plugin can display one metric at a time.


Available Crisp metrics include:

  • Website Visitors → the number of people currently on your website
  • Total Contacts → the number of contacts saved in your Crisp CRM
  • Unread Messages → the total number of unread messages in your Inbox
  • Pending Conversations → conversations that are pending and have not been handled yet


To change the metric, go to Crisp, open Plugins → Smiirl, then select the metric from the dropdown menu.

Change the update frequency


The update frequency is managed from Smiirl.


  1. Go to Smiirl.
  2. Open your counter settings.
  3. Choose the reactivity interval you want to use.
