How to connect Slack with Crisp

Learn how the Slack integration works and how to connect it to your Crisp workspace.

The Slack integration lets your team receive customer messages in Slack and reply from there, while keeping the full conversation history stored in Crisp. It is useful for teams that already coordinate support work from Slack.

The Slack integration is available from the Crisp Mini plan.

Link Slack to Crisp

  1. Go to Crisp.
  2. Open Plugins → Slack.
  3. Install the Slack plugin.
  4. Open the Slack plugin settings.
  5. Follow the connection flow to authorize Crisp in Slack.

Not every Slack user can install new Slack apps. If you cannot complete the authorization, ask your Slack workspace administrator to install or approve the Crisp app.

Frequently Asked Questions

Still have questions which were not covered in this article? Here is a collection of the most frequently asked questions on this topic.

Yes. Multiple Crisp workspaces can be linked to the same Slack team. Visitor messages are sent to the configured Slack channel, just like they are with a single workspace.

How do Slack team members get notified?

When a new visitor conversation starts, @crispbot posts a notification in the configured Slack channel. Operators can then join the visitor thread or channel if they want to handle that conversation.

The default channel name is usually #crisp-chats, but you can rename it in Slack. Crisp updates the plugin configuration when the channel name changes.

Are messages sent from Slack still stored in Crisp?

Yes. Visitor and operator messages are still stored in Crisp, even when replies are sent from Slack. Your team can keep using Crisp apps to search history and manage conversations.

Can part of the team reply from Slack and another part from Crisp?

Yes. Crisp synchronizes messages between Slack and Crisp, so some teammates can reply from Slack while others use the Crisp Inbox.

Do I need to add every Slack user as a Crisp operator?

No. Messages sent from Slack use the sender's Slack profile. Visitors can see the operator photo and first name from Slack, so large teams do not need to create a Crisp operator account for every Slack user who may reply.

Which Slack shortcuts are available?

You can control some Crisp conversation actions directly from Slack message actions.

Available Slack actions include:

  • Add segments
  • Share private note
  • Block user
  • Change email
  • Resolve conversation

For example, use Change email from a Slack message action to open a modal, enter the visitor email, and save it to the Crisp conversation.

Privacy and support

The Slack integration follows the same privacy policy as other Crisp products. You can read it on the Crisp Privacy Policy page.

If you have trouble with the Slack integration, contact Crisp from the contact page and include the workspace, Slack team, and channel where the issue happens.
