How to connect Mailchimp with Crisp

Learn how to connect Mailchimp to Crisp so new Crisp contacts can be pushed to your Mailchimp audience.

The Mailchimp integration sends new Crisp contacts to Mailchimp. It is a one-way sync from Crisp to Mailchimp and does not import contacts from Mailchimp into Crisp.

The Mailchimp integration is available from the Crisp Mini plan.

The Mailchimp integration only pushes contacts from Crisp to Mailchimp. It does not synchronize Mailchimp contacts back to Crisp.

Connect Mailchimp to Crisp

  1. Go to Crisp.
  2. Open Plugins → Mailchimp.
  3. Click Connect with Mailchimp.
  4. Complete the OAuth authorization flow in Mailchimp.
  5. Return to Crisp and confirm the plugin is connected.

Once connected, new Crisp contacts are synchronized to Mailchimp.

How the Mailchimp sync works

Crisp pushes new contacts created after the plugin is connected. Existing contacts and contacts imported through Crisp CSV import are not automatically sent to Mailchimp.

If you need to add older contacts to Mailchimp, export them from Crisp or your source system and import them directly into Mailchimp using CSV.

Troubleshooting

My contacts are not syncing to Mailchimp

Check these points first:

  • New contacts only → Crisp does not automatically push contacts created before the plugin was connected
  • CSV imports → contacts imported into Crisp by CSV are not automatically pushed to Mailchimp
  • Required merge tags → required Mailchimp merge tags can block contact creation if Crisp cannot provide those values
  • OAuth connection → reconnect the Mailchimp plugin from Plugins → Mailchimp if the authorization may have expired

The Mailchimp plugin works best with standalone Mailchimp audiences that do not require extra mandatory fields beyond what Crisp can send.
