How to delete a workspace

Delete a workspace only when you are absolutely sure it is the right one, because the action is permanent.

Removing a Crisp workspace deletes its data and cancels any active subscription attached to it. Before doing it, make sure you are the workspace owner, that every other agent has been removed, and that you are acting on the correct workspace.

Deleting a workspace is irreversible. Once confirmed, its data cannot be recovered.

Check the prerequisites

Before the delete option becomes available, you need to satisfy the ownership and membership requirements.

Before you proceed:

  • You must have the Owner role on that workspace
  • You must remove every other agent first
  • You must be the last owner remaining on the workspace

If needed, you can remove teammates from Settings → Workspace Settings → Operators in the Team.

Make sure you are deleting the correct workspace

If you manage multiple workspaces, take a minute to verify the one you are about to remove.

A simple way to avoid mistakes is to temporarily rename the workspace you plan to delete from Settings → Workspace Settings → Workspace Information, then verify that you are still looking at the expected workspace.

You can cross-check using the conversations, contacts, or analytics attached to that workspace.

Verify you are inside the correct workspace before deleting it

If the workspace name does not update immediately, reload the page or wait a moment for the interface cache to refresh.

Delete the workspace

Once you are sure you are in the right workspace, go to Settings → Workspace Settings → Danger Zone and click Delete Workspace.

Open the Danger Zone and start the workspace deletion flow

You will then be asked to confirm the action, authenticate again if needed, and enter the domain attached to the workspace.

After validation, the workspace deletion procedure starts.

If you want to delete your Crisp account too

You cannot fully remove your Crisp account while you are still a member of an active workspace.

If you are the only owner of a workspace, delete that workspace first. Once you no longer belong to any workspace, you can proceed with deleting your account.

For security reasons, Crisp notifies workspace owners when a deletion procedure is started.
