How to schedule when to appear online & offline

Learn how to schedule when your Crisp account appears online or offline.

Your Crisp availability controls whether visitors see support as online or away, and it can also affect assignment and routing behavior. Use the availability schedule when you want Crisp to follow your working hours instead of relying only on whether the app is open.

Configure your availability schedule

The availability schedule lets you define the days and hours when your account should appear online. Outside that schedule, you are seen as offline.

To configure your schedule:

  • Go to Crisp
  • Open Settings from the bottom-left corner
  • Navigate to Settings → Account → Availability
  • Toggle Enable availability schedule
  • Configure your online days and hours
  • Let Crisp auto-save your availability preferences

Enable the Crisp availability schedule from account settings

Invisible mode must be disabled before you can configure or rely on these availability preferences.

Common availability setups

Use the setup that best matches how you want Crisp to interpret your presence.

I only want to be online when my Crisp tab is open

Enable Set me available when using the app and keep the availability schedule disabled. If the schedule remains enabled, Crisp can still consider you online during scheduled hours even if that is not what you intended.

I want to be online only during working hours

Enable Available on schedule, then define the days and hours when you want to appear online. Crisp will consider you offline outside those ranges.

I want to be permanently offline

Enable Force offline. This keeps your account offline even if the app is open or a schedule exists.

I want to hide the chatbox when support is away

Ask your team to configure their availability schedules, then follow How to hide the chat when everybody is offline. This lets the chatbox react to your team's availability.

I want an out-of-office responder while support is away

Use a workflow or chatbot-style out-of-office flow to guide visitors when your team is unavailable. See How do I create an out-of-office responder? for the setup steps.

Troubleshooting availability

If Crisp shows you as offline when you expected to be online, review the schedule format and the way your hours are split across days.

Things to check first:

  • Use 24-hour time → for example, schedule 09:00 to 18:00 for a 9am to 6pm workday
  • Split overnight shifts → if you work from 13:00 to 03:00, create one schedule from 13:00 to 23:59 and another from 00:00 to 03:00
  • Check offline overrides → make sure Invisible or Force offline is not overriding your schedule
