How to connect Instagram pages (DM) with Crisp

Learn how to connect an Instagram Business Account to Crisp so your team can receive and reply to Instagram DMs and story reactions from the Inbox.


The Instagram integration connects through Meta and brings Instagram conversations into Crisp alongside your other support channels. This guide covers the requirements, installation, preferences, and additional account connections.


The Instagram integration is available from the Crisp Essentials plan.



Before connecting Instagram


Before you start, make sure:

  • Account type → your Instagram account is an Instagram Business Account
  • Account access → you have admin rights for the Instagram account
  • Facebook connection → the Instagram Business Account is connected to a Facebook Page


Meta manages the connection between Instagram accounts and Facebook Pages. If one of these requirements is missing, the account may appear as unavailable or not configured during setup.



Connect Instagram to Crisp


  1. Go to Crisp.
  2. Open Plugins → Instagram.
  3. Click View Details → Install Plugin.

  1. Click Connect to Instagram.

  1. In Meta, select the Instagram accounts and linked Facebook Pages you want Crisp to access.

  1. Return to Crisp and connect each Instagram account from which you want to receive messages.

Once connected, new Instagram conversations can be received and answered from the Crisp Inbox.

Configure Instagram preferences


The Instagram plugin includes preferences for automatically resolving or bypassing specific message types. Adjust these options based on how your team wants to handle Instagram traffic.


  1. Go to Crisp.
  2. Open Plugins → Instagram → Preferences.
  3. Enable or disable the options your team needs.

Connect additional Instagram accounts


You can connect multiple Instagram accounts to the same Crisp workspace. If an additional account is not available, reconnect the Meta authorization from Plugins → Instagram, then select the new Instagram account during the authorization flow.

One Instagram account is included with the Crisp Essentials plan. Additional accounts may require an extra monthly fee; contact Crisp support if you need to increase your account limit.



Troubleshoot the Instagram connection
