How to increase my Limits & Quotas

Learn how Crisp data limits and quota limits work, and how to increase eligible limits when your workspace needs more capacity.

Crisp plans include fair-use limits that protect the platform while keeping normal usage comfortable for most teams. If your workspace reaches a storage limit or a usage quota, eligible limits can be increased from your workspace settings.

Understand limits and quotas

Limits are tied to your current Crisp plan. Higher plans include higher default limits, and some custom limit upgrades are available only on Essentials and above.

Workspaces on Free or Mini should upgrade their plan first if they need access to higher custom limits.

Data limits

Data limits apply to information Crisp stores for your workspace. Increasing a data limit lets you store more entries or use more capacity for the related feature.

Data limits may include:

  • Campaign recipients limit → increases how many recipients can be targeted, when used with eligible sending infrastructure such as a Dedicated IP or custom SMTP
  • Inbox operators limit → allows more agents to work from the Crisp Inbox when available for your plan or setup
  • CRM contacts limit → lets your workspace store more customer profiles
  • Status page nodes limit → lets your status page monitor more hosts

Features not listed in the limit settings do not require a paid limit upgrade. For example, the Crisp Inbox does not require a custom storage limit just to keep more conversation messages.

Quota limits

Quota limits apply to how often a feature can be used during a given time period.

Quota limits may include:

  • LiveTranslate messages translated → limits how many messages can be translated
  • LiveTranslate characters translated → limits the total number of translated characters
  • Chatbox files uploaded → limits how many files visitors can upload through the chatbox
  • Conversation filters executed → limits how often advanced Inbox filters can run, and cannot be increased
  • Contact filters executed → limits how often advanced CRM filters can run, and cannot be increased

Increase eligible limits

Before increasing a limit, make sure the workspace meets the required conditions.

You need:

  • A valid payment method linked to the workspace
  • An Essentials plan or higher
  • Owner permissions on the workspace

Go to Crisp, then open Settings → Workspace Settings → Data, Limits & Legal.

To increase a limit:

  • Open Limits & Quotas Usage
  • Find the limit you want to increase
  • Click Increase when the option is available
  • Select the amount of additional capacity you want
  • Click Activate Those Limits

If the Increase button does not appear, that specific limit cannot be increased from the dashboard.

When your workspace gets close to a limit, Crisp may show an alert banner to operators. The banner can point you directly to the relevant limit setting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Still have questions which were not covered in this article? Here is a collection of the most frequently asked questions on this topic.

How can I tell when a limit has been reached?

Crisp shows an alert in the dashboard when a quota or limit needs attention. A warning alert appears when usage is getting close to the limit, and an important alert appears when the limit has been reached.

How can I view my current limits and usage?

Open Crisp, then go to Settings → Workspace Settings → Data, Limits & Legal → Limits & Quotas Usage. This page shows the limits available for your workspace and how much of each one is currently used.

When are custom limits billed?

Custom limits are billed with your other Crisp subscriptions, such as plans and eligible add-ons. They are billed monthly and appear on your Crisp invoice alongside the rest of your active billing items.

Why can I not increase a Campaign recipient limit?

Campaign recipient limits depend on your plan, trial or sandbox status, and email sending setup. Increased Campaign recipient limits only apply when you use eligible sending infrastructure, such as a Dedicated IP or custom SMTP.
